Uses of F1 - This is used for support (ie help key) if you need help on windows or even OS click F1 to get help. Also sometimes press F1 if you want to boot your computer.
Uses of F2 - F2 is used to open a new document in on windows. For instance you want to open document of Microsoft Word is by clicking CTRL and ALT + F2. Also used for renaming a folder or file
F3 - If you press Shift + F3 you change what you write in Microsoft Word from uppercase to lowercase or uppercase letters at the beginning of the sentence. Volume up for some keyboards.
Uses of F4 - ALT + F4 closes the window you're doing. Also CTR + F4 closes the current opened program or folder or file
F5 - Used for refreshing or reload the page in recent browsers. Also to refresh contents in a folder.
F6 - Opens new document in Microsoft word. Volume down in some keyboards.
F7 - Checking spelling or grammar in Microsoft programs like word, outlook e.t.c. Also used as volume up in some keyboards.
F8 - If you want to access safe mode.
F9 - Refreshing Microsoft word document. Reducing brightness in some keyboards.
F10 - Increasing brightness in some keyboards. SHIFT + F10 Equal to right click
F11 - Full screen viewer or exit full screen. Reducing brightness in some keyboards.
F12 - Used as save as in Microsoft word. CTR + F12 used to save document in Ms Word. CTR+SHIFT+F12 to print word document. Increasing the brightness in some keyboards.
NOTE THAT: All above uses of f1 to f12 some of laptops/keyboards those keys should used with fn key. So if it is not working try to hold fn then press key you want.
